Dandelion Salad

I had heard of it, but never tried it.
In Zürich they sell them in the market: Löwenzahnen. Dents de Lion or Pissenlits. Dandelions leaves. They grow in many gardens.
I dug out some young shoots in mine -- killing two birds with one stone (weeding and food) -- discarded other weeds like grass and clover. Then snipped off the roots, thus also discarding the flower buds. They need to be washed well. Drain and serve with a vinaigrette. Or mix with other lettuces like Batavia or Mâche.
Not as tastefull as rocket. Rather like lettuce. But reportedly extremely healthy.

Oh well . . . .
