I had not been looking forward to our visit to the US the other week.
Returning to it after at least ten years I discovered:
that the people are so friendly;
that they are more critical of their policymakers than many Europeans;
that the weather was gorgeous;
that the billygoat trail was as beautiful as ever;
that our friends are as disgusted with their government as we are;
that they are as warm as I remembered;
that it was just lovely to be back for a week!
