Fatma is illiterate. She can read numbers, but not words. With amazement I watch her as she opens her files and leafs through the letters, searching for the right one. How does she do it?
I imagine myself in an Arabic country, trying to do the same. It is daunting. What is her method? Is it recognizing the icons at the top of the letters? What if some icons are the same? It is puzzling to me.
As I am watching her neatly arranging her papers, I admire her courage.
